Dr. Marissa S. Chapnick, DPT, BHS, Certified in dry needling
Dr. Chapnick, owner of Evolve Physical Therapy, graduated with honors with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Bachelors in Health Science, and a minor in Psychology from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2009.
As a long time devotee of both gymnastics and dance movement, Marissa has developed a strong passion and understanding of the human body at its greatest levels of performance. This in turn, has served to assist her in devising unique, specialized, and individualized treatment regimens for her patients. Dr. Chapnick prides herself on establishing one-on-one relationships with each individual patient due to her passion for the field and genuine care with respect to the well-being of her patients.
Her extensive work experience includes treating as the touring physical therapist with the Broadway productions of “Wicked” and “101 Dalmatians”. Marissa also devoted her time to serve as the onsite physical therapist for Queens and Dowling collegiate athletes as well as professional UFC fighters, US national figure skaters, triathletes, and NBA Players.
Dr. Chapnick is certified in many sought out techniques, including but not limited to, Active Release Techniques (ART)®, Graston Technique®, Lumbopelvic Integration by IMTS Global, Pilates (All Populations Mat and Reformer), and Perinatal Fitness by Healthy Moms.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Marissa continues to share her passion for dance and performs all over the world.
Adriana Tandazo, PTA
Adriana Tandazo is a Physical Therapist Assistant at Evolve Physical Therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rutgers University prior to returning to school to pursue her passion for the physical therapy field. Adriana graduated with high honors with an Associate degree in Applied Science from Essex County College, where she received her license to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. She is excited to be a part of the Evolve Physical Therapy team and has a passion for the athletic and orthopedic community.
Adriana grew up in Belleville, New Jersey where her passion for athletics began from running varsity cross country and indoor and outdoor track to competitive boxing for 6 years. She has had the pleasure of coaching High School track, leading the team to 4 consecutive seasons to the Meet of Champions, prior to becoming a PTA. She continues to enjoy running, including the NYC Marathon in 2016 and participating in obstacle course mud run races. On the weekends, Adriana helps out in a coordination program at a gym facilitating children with disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, ADHD and spina bifida.
Adriana is excited for her journey at Evolve Physical Therapy and is ready to help her patients reach their goals and better their lives.
